Ghostlaw

Welcome, Mrs. Ghostlaw, our new HS English Teacher. Her hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her dog, Peaches. Originally from St. Regis Falls, she received her degree from SUNY Potsdam and joined CPCS for our amazing staff and kind students!

Welcome our new Speech Pathologist  Carolyn Filiatrault!

Welcome Mrs. Filiatrault a speech-language pathologist at Colton-Pierrepont Central School. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, taking walks, swimming and cooking. She went to college at SUNY Fredonia College and previously worked at Canton. What made her work here was our positive culture!

Meet the Coach: Coach Widrick!

Meet The Coach: Coach Widrick is our modified softball and modified basketball coach! Her goal is to work on teamwork and win the record. A CPCS alum, she also played soccer, basketball, and softball. Coach Widrick has always loved cheering for the COLTS!

Welcome Miss Elisa Sergi: Teaching Math 7, Algebra 2, and Elementary Math. Her hobbies include listening to music and walking with friends. She went to Canton High School and received her teaching degree from St.Lawrence University. She chose to come to Colton because she loves the community here!

Meet Ms. Mackayla Burke, our new Living Environment, Chem, and more teacher! Her hobbies include baking, fishing, and spending time with her family. Originally from Edwards, she earned her teaching degree from SUNY Potsdam. She loves CPCS and its intimate class sizes!

Congratulations Mrs. Merriman!

While not a new teacher, congratulations to Mrs. Merriman, (formerly Miss Tardelli)! Mrs. Merriman teaches second grade and coaches modified soccer. Her hobbies include reading, sports, exercise, and watching movies. She wanted to join CPCS when she saw our students being successful!

Ashley McKinley with her 33 Bags designed for youth in Foster Care.

For the third year in a row, Ashley McKinley, a junior at CPCS, has chosen to help children in foster care in St. Lawrence County. This summer her focus was on teenage girls. Ashley - “I would like every teenage girl in foster care to have the same products to feel clean and ready to face the day."

6th Grade English & Social Studies

Say Hello to Ms. McGee, our 6th grade English and Social Studies Teacher! Ms. McGee really enjoys teaching. There has never been a day that she has not wanted to be here at CPCS. She is really proud of herself for putting herself through college and for fighting a career that she really loves. Ms. McGee’s greatest strength is treating people the way she wants to be treated.

2nd Grade

Congratulations Mrs. Knight on your summer wedding! Mrs. Knight is a second grade teacher for CPCS. She chose to come to Colton because her husband used to come here, it’s a really small school, and she loves it! She used to go to Frank Sinatra High School and for college she went to Suny Geneseo. She has always enjoyed working with kids. That’s why she is a teacher at CPCS. Some of her favorite things to do outside of teaching are singing and yoga.

Mrs. Barrett: Kindergarten Assistant

Give a warm welcome to our new Kindergarten student assistant, Mrs. Barrett! She enjoys reading, gardening, and vacationing. She graduated from SUNY Canton and then later, SUNY Potsdam. While in college she played softball. She came to Colton from Norwood because of the smaller school atmosphere. A couple of things that inspired her to go into this job are her love of children and how importantly she uses literature.

Mr. Nee: Superintendent

Meet Mr. Nee our Superintendent here at CPCS. He attended Canton Central School, Le Moyne Syracuse University, and Stony Brook University. His advice to you is to do what you love to do so your job doesn’t feel like work. Mr. Nee has worked here at CPCS since 2000.

 Nurse Tara

Meet is Mrs. Tara Adams. She is the school nurse for Colton-Pierrepont Central school. Mrs. Tara helps keep students and staff healthy. during her free time she's outdoors, with family, also going on boat and side-by-side rides. Mrs. Tara had went to Colton-Pierrepont central school. She had went to Suny Canton college and played Softball, and basketball in college. Mrs. Tara had worked at Potsdam Primary care before coming to Colton. Her mom and being type 1 diabetic for 32 years had inspired her to come into the current job she is in right now.

Principle McKinley

Meet Mrs. McKinley, our new principal! During her free time she enjoys hanging out with family, going side-by-side riding, and playing hockey. Mrs. McKinley went to high school at Potsdam Central School and went to Clarkson University for undergraduate, SUNY Potsdam for masters/teaching degree, and St. Lawrence University for an administration degree. In college she played rugby and intramurals. Before coming to CPCS she worked at Potsdam Central School as the elementary principal. She decided to come here because she loves working with the students and the community. She loves and supports all staff and students!
