The Colton-Pierrepont Board of Education has authorized an Optimization Study in partnership with the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School District to explore opportunities for strengthening educational programs, potential sharing of services, and addressing long-term financial challenges.

Conducted by the Schmitt Leadership Group in partnership with St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES and the New York State Education Department, the six- to eight-month study will examine enrollment, academics, staffing, facilities, transportation, finances, and opportunities for collaboration.

No decisions have been made, and the study does not mean reorganization will occur. Instead, it is intended to provide both Boards of Education with objective information to support future planning. Community members will have multiple opportunities to participate through public meetings, surveys, focus groups, and presentations.

At the conclusion of the study, consultants will present their findings to both Boards of Education. Any future decision regarding district reorganization would require additional public input and voter approval in both communities.
