Dear CPCS Families,
We are in need of one parent volunteer to serve as a member of the Colton-Pierrepont Central School District Shared Decision-Making Team.
The District Team brings together parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders to collaborate on important topics that impact our schools. The team's purpose is to strengthen our educational program by ensuring that a variety of perspectives are included in district-level planning and decision-making.
Throughout the school year, the team may discuss topics such as:
Curriculum and instructional programs
Professional development for staff
Student achievement and assessment
School improvement planning
Budget priorities
School discipline and grading practices
Athletics and extracurricular opportunities
Facility planning
Other initiatives that support student success
Serving on the team is a meaningful opportunity to share your perspective, represent the voices of our families, and help shape the future of our district. Meetings are held periodically throughout the school year.

Meet Nurse Kim Distasio, our new school nurse!
Nurse Kim Distasio is our new school nurse. Some of her hobbies include spending time with her kids and boating along the Saint Lawrence River. She went to high school in Sandy Creek. She attended college at SUNY Canton for nursing, going on to work at Saint Lawrence Psychiatric Center, followed by serving as a school nurse at BOCES. She’s excited to be serving here at Colton-Pierrepont, where she attended elementary school. She also enjoys the small-town vibes of Colton. We’re thrilled to have her, and she’s very excited to be here!
Shea Charleson is the athlete of the week for the girls varsity soccer team. Shea has posted two shutouts in her first two varsity soccer games as the goalkeeper. Shea is new to the position but she is excelling and has proven to be coachable and willing to do whatever it takes to help her team compete day in and day out.
Brady Friedel is the athlete of the week for the boys varsity soccer team. Brady was a key contributor in our first win of the season against St. Lawrence central scoring his first goal of the year.

BUS ROUTES: School starts on Wednesday, 9/2, Here are the APPROXIMATE bus pick-up times. We have some new routes and some new drivers. Please have your student(s) ready at least 10 minutes prior to the time listed as we work through the new changes. Pick-up times may vary depending on weather and ridership throughout the year. Thank you for your patience as we work to safely transport all students.
Join the Colton-Pierrepont family! We're hiring a bus driver and a cafeteria monitor, plus substitutes in the following areas: bus drivers, teachers, teacher assistants, cleaners, and food service workers. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

Digital Wellness Make-Up Session:
Students in grades 3–12 who were unable to attend this week’s Digital Wellness Meeting can attend the make-up session Monday, August 31st at 5:45 PM in the Auditorium during Open House.
Important: Students cannot be issued a Chromebook until they have:
✅ Attended the Digital Wellness Meeting with a parent/guardian
✅ Completed the required forms
✅ Purchased Chromebook insurance
